Family Sponsorship

You can get your family members to Canada-Spouse, Dependent Children or parents.

1- Sponsor your spouse / Common Law partner – PR application

Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents can sponsor their spouse, common law partner or conjugal partner to become Permanent resident of Canada

The sponsor and the sponsored person must be at least 18 years of age
The relationship must be genuine and not primarily to gain PR
The sponsor must not have been sponsored to Canada as a spouse within the last 5 years
Legal marriage document or proof of common-law status required
Evidence of a genuine and continuing relationship is must.
Sponsor’s financial documents to demonstrate sponsor's financial ability to support
Person to whom you are sponsoring must me admissible to Canada

2. Open work permit for spouse

Either you are student in Canada, or worker or even if you are PR or Citizen of Canada, you can get open work permit for your spouse, common law partner or conjugal partner.

You must have genuine, in good standing and ongoing relationship with your partner.
You must have valid status in Canada (at least for next 6 months).
You must maintain and comply with your status in Canada.
You should be financially stable.
Person to whom you are sponsoring must be admissible to Canada.

  • Parents Sponsorship (PR) Under Parents and Grandparents sponsorship program

Parents Super Visa

The super visa – through which Canadian Citizen and Permanent residents can invite their Parents and Grandparents to Canada as a visitor and stay together for five consecutive years on their initial visit without having to renew their status.

Super visa can be issue upto 10 Years

Parents can also extend their stay beyond 5 years within Canada (without leaving Canada) prior to expiry date of their status in Canada (Subject to approval from IRCC)

Parents Supervisa Requirements

Supervisa requirements are as follows:

Host (inviter) should be a permanent resident or citizenship of Canada.
Host must be 18 years or older and live in Canada.
Meets or exceeds the minimum income requirement (chart attached below).
Medical insurance is necessory (minimum 100,000 CAD coverage 1 year).
Financial support during the visit.
Applicants should be outside canada to submit the application.
E medical or upfront medical is not compulsory before the submission but highly recommended.

Parents sponsorship

Canada’s Immigration under Family Class allows Canadian Citizens and PR to sponsor their parents and grandparents through the Parents and Grand Parents sponsorship program (PGP)  

Sponsor must be either a canadian Citizen or PR of Canada.
Must meet minimum income requirement of the program.
Must support the sponsored person and their dependent financially.
Sponsor must submit online interest form to sponsor their parents and should have received ITA (Invitation to Apply) Letter under PGP draw.

Parents Visit Visa

Visit visa for parents are suitable for those parents who want to frequently travel to Canada to visit their children for a shorter period of time (mostly less than six months stay at a time)

Visit visa for parents are mostly valid for 10 years or upto applicant’s passport validity.

This visa mostly issued for Multiple Entry, where parents can travel freely between Canada and their country of residence without worry.
